The Point Richmond Tech Center is located in the bayside village of historic Point Richmond on San Francisco Bay. This unique 250,000 square foot business environment provides a campus-like atmosphere perfectly suited to high-tech and corporate office uses. Scher and his partners designed the Point Richmond Tech Center to blend comfortably into the special setting of the Point Richmond village. The group created a flexible design plan, ideal for accommodating growing businesses. Scher contributed his expertise and participation in the land acquisition, design, and financing for this project. Integrating respect for the past with the future needs of the community, the Center offers an ideal environment for research and other facilities. The Center is a short walk to restaurants, parks, and recreation facilities. Public transportation is readily available, using AC Transit and BART. Centrally located, the Center provides easy access to the entire Marin, Alameda, and Contra Costa labor pool. Across the street from the Point Richmond Tech Center is the splendidly renovated indoor swimming pool, popularly known as the “Richmond Plunge.” Scher sold his interest upon his relocation from the Bay Area to Santa Barbara.
