Scher Investment Group is continually looking for opportunistic real estate acquisitions to create value through ground-up development, adaptive reuse, and management enhancements. We plan on working with participating institutions and equity partners to acquire larger-scale assets. Upon acquisition, we create value for our partners, the communities that benefit from our development enhancements, and ourselves. We are flexible with regard to asset type; our geographic focus and reach is the Western United States.

We plan to greatly expand our footprint over the next few years by acquiring distressed commercial real estate assets and/or debt. We have purposely sat on the sidelines watching the run up of values to unsustainable levels in the mid 2000 decade and now seek to take advantage of the precipitous fall in prices.

With regard to our Senior Housing business, we are actively pursuing opportunistic acquisitions, in partnership with our operating management company, to grow this business strategically throughout the country.

Our record includes the development of new suburban business parks; the conversion of blighted urban buildings into infill corporate centers; and the management of facilities occupied by tenants ranging form biotech laboratories, national corporate offices and government agencies. We own and asset manage more than $100 million in assets.
